'Our Place ' Community Plans

Since 2016, the Clutha District Council has developed community plans across the Clutha District. The “Our Place” process begins by developing concepts and options for a specific community and presenting them in a discussion document, which is sent to every property in the area. The Council then holds a series of public consultation events for community members to provide feedback. Once this process is complete, Council produces a final community plan outlining the specific projects to be undertaken.

Once a Community Plan is approved, the real work begins, and it is not always smooth sailing. Bringing the aspirations in these plans to fruition takes time and effort. Some of our aspirations detailed in these plans are not quick fixes.

We have developed plans for Balclutha, Clinton, Clutha Valley, Kaitangata, Lawrence-Tuapeka, Milton, Taieri Mouth, The Catlins, Waihola and West Otago.
