Candidate profile
Hi, I’m Sandra Allan.
I’ve lived in Tapanui for the past 16 years, and during that time, my husband and I owned and ran a local business for 12 of those years.
We were lucky to have the support of this amazing community throughout that time and now that we’ve retired, I feel it’s time to give back.
I’m currently a committee member at the West Otago Community Centre, which I really enjoy being part of.
I would love the opportunity to contribute more by joining the community board.
I hope to bring a practical perspective, a strong connection to the people here, and a genuine desire to help keep West Otago a fantastic place to live.
Thanks for your consideration.

I'm a 68 year old farmer who lives at Waikoikoi with my wife Vanessa and am a father to 3 adult children and 2 teenage daughters. I farm sheep on my property and have done for 52 years. I'm honest, reliable and always give 100% to whatever I'm involved in.
I've been on the West Otago Community Board for three terms and would like to continue this role as I enjoy being a part of the decision making.
I sit on other committees like; Gore Health Inc, GRWS, Waikoikoi Domain Board and Cemetery Committees. Also being Chairman for the Waikoikoi War Memorial Project makes me very proud and I believe it to be a legacy I'll leave for our district.
I have a vested interest in West Otago to see that we're looked after in our community. I am seeking re-election on to the West Otago Community Board.

Candidate profile
Mark Diamond here, a Tapanui resident with my wife, Angela. My long-standing passion for our community is rooted in living in a small, rural town. Over the last 30 years, I've dedicated myself to various local clubs and committees, including a decade as a volunteer firefighter.
I've just completed a three-year term on the WOCB, where I proudly served as the representative on the WO Swimming Pool and Black Gully Domain committees. My primary role is to be the voice of the community. I believe in listening to residents and ratepayers and voting according to their wishes. As a resident and ratepayer myself, I'm committed to achieving the best outcomes for our area.
I encourage you to attend the WOCB meetings. They offer valuable insight into how decisions are made, and you can speak during the public forum at appointed times. I wish to continue serving our community.

Having been elected to the West Otago Community Board previously I feel I have the experience and passion to continue in this role. I am a good communicator and am not afraid to speak my mind. I care about West Otago and want to do my best to represent the whole area. Having been involved in Our Place West Otago projects I am keen to see the remainder of these projects over the line along with the other board members.

Candidate profile
I am a 67 year old semi-retired farmer. My wife and I have just moved to Tapanui two years ago as part of family succession planning.
I have lived in West Otago all my life and always active in the community. Presently I am Chairperson of the West Otago Community Centre Committee, a committee member of the West Otago A & P Association and recently retired from New Zealand Herefords Board. I am green keeper at the Tapanui Bowling Green. Sport has always played a large part in my life. I also enjoy coaching children whether with the BMC skiing trips or tennis to first time players.
With more time on my hands I was asked if I would put myself forward for the West Otago Community Board. I have no fixed agenda but would like to see West Otago the best place it can be for our residents.
