I am a New Zealand citizen who emigrated from Hong Kong in October 1988. After some 25 years working in Local Government in New Zealand, I retired and moved to live in Lawrence in October 2016. Over time, I have become an engaged and contributing member of the Lawrence Community.
My involvement with Community events includes setting up the Lawrence Lantern Festival in partnership with the Lawrence Area School to celebrate the cultural heritage of Lawrence, actively supporting the Lawrence Chinese Camp and volunteering at the Tuapeka Goldfields Museum. I have also served as Trustee of the Lawrence Athenaeum and Mining Institute.
I am proactive, hard-working, and a good communicator. My extensive experience in Local Government makes me well-equipped to serve on the Lawrence-Tuapeka Community Board.

I bring a wealth of life experience, dedication and a strong community spirit to the table. After moving down from the Waikato approximately 20 months ago, I have been eager to contribute meanfully to my new community. I previously owned and operated my own business in the automotive trade for over 30 years, showcasing my commitment, reliability, and entrepreneurial drive.
Beyond business, I have a long history of community involvement - from rugby coaching to classic car clubs and supporting local rock n roll events. I've also been involved in spec building and enjoy spending my spare time outdoors fishing. My hands on approach, coupled with my understanding of what makes a community thrive makes me a well-rounded and grounded candidate.

If elected, this will be my third term on the Lawrence-Tuapeka Community Board. I’ve really enjoyed the past six years, learning the process and gaining a strong understanding of what makes an effective board member. I work full-time as a firefighter in Dunedin and am actively involved with the Lawrence Volunteer Fire Brigade as the Chief Fire Officer. I’ve helped lead several local projects, including the drinking water fountain, the community-funded helipad, and the Zigzag track refresh. I’m approachable, open-minded, and committed to making our great community even better. If re-elected, I’ll continue to bring passion, practical skills, and the experience gained from previous terms to the board, working hard for the people of Lawrence-Tuapeka.

I am a 4th generation local who works, lives and socialises in the Lawrence-Tuapeka District. I work as a rural professional and alongside my wife, who works as a Nurse, we raise our 2 young boys here in Lawrence.
Due to my heavy involvement and long-standing affiliation to the area, my interest in community groups, projects and improvement success is front of mind for me. I currently sit on numerous local committees and I would like to progress into a position where I can represent the entire community.
As an outgoing, motivated and dedicated member of the community, if elected I will represent the district and the people within it to the best of my ability.

I'm Elizabeth Ritchie. I grew up here in this wonderful community and was lucky enough to raise my own family here too.
I care deeply about our historic buildings and the character they bring to our town.
I'm also passionate about looking after the local infrastructure that helps our community run well. I'm a practical person who enjoys working with others, and I'd love the chance to help keep our town a great place to live, now and into the future.
I enjoy being involved in a few local committees and groups. Spending time outdoors, we are so lucky to have such beautiful surroundings to enjoy.
