Progress update on the Milton Community Library demolition – Thursday 18 December 2025
Demolition to make way for the Elsie Stewart Community Library and Pool in Milton began a few weeks ago in Ajax Street with removal of the house on the future car park area.
In consultation with contractor Andrew Haulage, Clutha District Council has adjusted the timeline to allow demolition of the old library to begin from 7 January, weather dependent, rather than December as first proposed.
The Toko Training building on Ajax Street will be prepared for demolition by removing the roofing iron and cladding between Christmas and New Year, with final demolition to also take place in early January.
