Mid-term review of the Regional Land Transport Plans 2021-2031
The Otago and Southland Regional Transport Committees are keen to hear your views on transport activities in our regions.
This is a mid-term review of the Otago Southland Regional Land Transport Plans 2021-31.
We need your input to ensure that the plans are on track and are still relevant to the regions' needs.
What you need to know
We are adjusting the investment priorities to reflect the transport system's needs. These priorities relate to:
- Providing more transport choices for people in how they move around.
- Promoting safety, health and wellbeing for the community and the environment.
- Enhancing maintenance and network resilience to ensure community access and connectivity.
Copies of the plan are available from our community libraries or you can read online and provide your feedback via the Otago Regional Council.
The Otago and Southland Regional Transport Committee Chairs have agreed to an extension of the consultation period for the Otago Southland RLTP that was due to close on Friday 15 March.
The New Zealand Transport Agency have extended the deadline from 14 June till the 1 August 2024. This will allow a revised state highway programme of work that aligns with the recently released Government Policy Statement on Land Transport to be incorporated into the RLTP through the submission and hearings process.
Consultation on the Otago Southland will now close on the 19 April 2024 at 5.00pm.
