Voting is now underway for the Lawrence-Tuapeka Community Board By-election that came as a result of an extraordinary vacancy to be filled.
The following persons have been nominated.

As there are more candidates than there are vacancies to be filled, an election will be held between the listed candidates on Friday, 16 October 2026, under the first past the post electoral system by postal vote.
Return of Voting Documents
Voting documents must be returned no later than noon, Friday 16 October 2026 to the electoral officer, Clutha District Council.
Voting documents can be returned by post or hand-delivered during normal business hours from Wednesday 16 September 2026 to the following locations:
- Clutha District Council’s Main Office, 1 Rosebank Terrace, Balclutha.
- Lawrence Service Centre, 5 Peel Street, Lawrence.
Special Voting Special voting in terms of the Local Electoral Regulations 2001 may be exercised at the above times and locations.
