Planned water shutdown - Clyde Street, Balclutha
9am to 10am - Tuesday, 20 October
Clutha District Council’s contractor will be doing planned maintenance on the Balclutha water network.
This requires a water shutdown that will affect some properties on Clyde Street on Tuesday 20 October 2026 from 9am until approximately 10am.
Please see map below for affected properties:
- 85 - 118 Clyde Street
- 83 - 127 Clyde Street
Our contractor will be working to minimise disruption. In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, this work may be rescheduled.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Should you experience any additional difficulties, please ring Council on 0800 801 350.
If you're affected by this shutdown, here's what you should do to get ready:
In preparation, please fill your own containers with water to ensure you have enough to meet your needs during the water shutdown.
We’ll do everything we can to restore your water supply as soon as possible, but please be aware that if things do not go as anticipated, it is possible that your water may be off for longer. Please make sure you have enough water put aside in case this happens.
What to do once your water supply is restored:
It’s likely you won’t need to do anything, but sometimes water works can stir up sediment in the pipes. If you notice that your water is discoloured, please turn on one outside tap and run it for 20 minutes or until the water runs clear.
