7.30pm - Tuesday 15 September
The valve repair in Lawrence has been completed and water supply is back on to affected properties.
Unfortunately, another break has been identified further up the line.
It is too dark for our crew to complete this repair, so a temporary solution has been put in place to restore water supply until our team can return first thing tomorrow.
The water pressure will be lower than usual, and consumers may notice disruption to their water supply this evening. There is a chance that a small number of properties on the hill may receive limited water supply due to lower pressure in the network.
A water tank has been placed outside the truck yard of RTL Logistics on Irvine Street, where you can fill your own containers with fresh water.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. Our crew will be back on site in the morning to continue this work.

3:30pm: The extensive leak in the Lawrence network has been repaired.
Unfortunately a valve further up the line has broken down and will need to be replaced.
Clutha District Council's contractor has advised that a water shutdown will likely be in place until 7.30pm.
The same properties will be affected, please see highlighted properties on the map below.
The water tank will still be in place during this time.
We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause and appreciate your patience while we work to repair this leak.
