Proposed Temporary Road Closure - Coastal Classic

Coastal Classic MTB, Run & Walk Event - Sunday 8 November 2026
(Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1974)
Clutha District Council proposes to close the following roads between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Sunday, 8 November 2025 for the purpose of the Coastal Classic Sports Event:
- Kingston Terrace – Full length
- Moturata Road – Full length
- Coutts Gully Road – Full length
- Burma Road – Full length
- Taieri Beach Road – Full length
- Akatore Road – From Moturata Road to Pleasant Road and Big Creek Road to Glenledi Road
Detours are available via Finlayson Road and State Highway 1.
If you object to these temporary road closures, please contact Council with your objection and grounds in writing before 5pm on Friday, 9 October 2026 to Clutha District Council, 1 Rosebank Terrace, PO Box 25, Balclutha 9240.
