Heritage Home Tour – Lawrence
Explore Lawrence’s heritage homes on Sunday 1 November, 11am–3pm. Enjoy seven homes, with morning or afternoon tea at The Prospector Café, Ross Place, included in your ticket.
Featured homes include:
- 3 Lancaster Street: The iconic zig-zag house beside the path connecting Ross Place and Colonsay Street.
- 21 Lancaster Street: The former Bank of New Zealand building, dating from the 1880s.
- 5 Kilmarnock Street: A carefully restored villa with an elevated outlook and fabulous views.
- 39 Whitehaven Street: An original cottage on the former main road into town, recently extended.
- 13 Whitehaven Street: Built in 1889, featuring original wrought-iron verandah fretwork and pillars.
- 133 Gabriel’s Gully Road: A home that began life as a miner’s cottage on this historic road.
Tickets: $35 per person. Pre-purchase is strongly encouraged. Book by emailing heritagetrustlawrence@gmail.com. Cash-only tickets will be available on the day from the Museum and Visitor Centre.
Entry information: Homes are open to ticket holders only. No children, except carried babies. Please respect each property and the owners’ requests, remove shoes unless advised otherwise, and obtain permission before taking photographs. Park safely and walk where possible.
Last entry to any home is 2.45pm.
