Our Place Waihola Community Plan

At Council’s Service Delivery Committee meeting on 26 July 2018, the Our Place Waihola Community Plan Feedback Report​ was received. 

Based on the feedback received, Councillors approved the following project groupings for full project information to be developed: 
  • Walking and cycling in and around Waihola
  • Milton – Waihola water pipeline
  • Infrastructure and services
  • Community and visitor facilities
  • Development in and around Waihola
  • Waihola’s parks and reserves
  • Central Waihola improvements
Councillors requested some further consultation be undertaken in Waihola, to explain the findings of the Feedback Report, and the project groupings which have been identified. A public drop-in session​  is planned for Wednesday 12 September, between 4pm and 8pm. 

Council has funded a permanent full-time position to implement some of the projects that Council is leading as part of the Our Place community plans in Waihola, Milton and Balclutha.

General Information

The "Our Place Waihola" community plan will help determine the projects and priorities for the community, as well as help put Council's Living and Working and Economic Development Strategies into action. The ideas centre on what Council can do with our key facilities and how we can work with the community to make things happen.

According to the feedback the top three priority topics ​​were:
  1. Milton – Waihola water pipeline
  2. Key infrastructure and services (sewerage, stormwater, roading etc.)
  3. Walking and cycling options
