Public Notice of Proposed New Resource Consent Fees

Section 36, Resource Management Act 1991

Changes to the Resource Management Act 1991 have introduced new consent/permitted activity categories. The Council can charge a fee to recover the costs of administering these.

What are the new fees?

There are two new types of consent or consent exemptions, as outlined below, along with the proposed fee:
Boundary activity resource consent (Sections 87AAB – 87BA) - $280 (fixed fee)
Resource consent exemption (Section 87BB) - $210 (fixed fee)
The fees proposed have been calculated using the current $140 hourly rate and our best estimate of the time it would take to process these types of applications. It is also proposed to make the fees a fixed amount to provide certainty of the total cost as well as the fact that they are straight forward applications that will be simple to administer.

Consultation on the fees

Council invites feedback on the fees. Feedback may be made via Council’s website or in writing to New Resource Consent Application Fees 2017, Clutha District Council, PO Box 25, Balclutha 9240.

The closing date is 5pm on Monday 11 December 2017.
