Are you looking for a job? JOBBORTUNITIES is a ‘speed dating’ type event that aims to match people with jobs and opportunities.
The first event will be held in Balclutha at the Cross Recreation Centre on Thursday, October 1 from 4-7pm. With the next event being held in Queenstown on October 10.
Event organiser Ruth Carraway said the two events would allow employers to sit across the table from locals seeking employment or training and establish the first links to a positive recruitment process.
“JOBBORTUNITIES is Otago’s chance to look after our own and directly link the thousands of jobs and opportunities still available in our province with all those that are currently searching for employment and/or training.
“Anyone can come along - it’s going to be BIG, it’s going to be AWESOME, think ‘speed dating’ on turbo!”
The events were part of a new programme being undertaken by the Clutha District Council and the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs.
The Community Recovery Programme aimed to help rural councils provide assistance to their people and businesses affected by the impact of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Businesses wanting to be part of the event are invited to contact Ruth Carraway on 022 017 0135.
“We want to provide positive outcomes for those looking for employment.”
