Heavy rain watch for Clutha District
With a heavy rain watch in place for Clutha until 1pm tomorrow, some surface flooding is expected for the district’s roads.
With the ground still wet from recent rain, it’s expected there will be areas of surface flooding if the heavy rainfall eventuates.
Council’s contractor will continue to monitor the roads and flooding signs will be erected where possible.
At this stage the only road known to be affected is the intersection of Back Rd and Springfield Rd in Milton. This has been signposted.
Drivers are urged to take their time and drive to the conditions.
Heavy rain events can also impact the district’s water schemes. These will be monitored, and the public advised if they’re affected.
Clutha Civil Defence Emergency Management is monitoring the situation and is ready to respond if required.
Updates will be shared on the Clutha District Council website, Antenno app and via text alerts.
