During the Our Place Milton community consultation Council asked residents for their views on improving Milton's main street and upgrading the public toilets in Stewart Reserve.
Feedback received showed that these improvements were high priorities for the local community.
Council included $550,000 in the 2019/20 district-wide public toilet budget to complete a major overhaul of Milton's main public toilets at Stewart Reserve, and consulted on three options for the main street improvements in the Long Term Plan 2018-28.
Again, feedback strongly supported these improvements with most poeple supporting 'Option 3' to spend $2M on improvements to footpaths, pedestrian crossings, improvements to Stewart Reserve and more undergrounding of the powerlines.
Since then Council staff have been progressing the work and at the end of June 2020 were able to present a set of draft concept drawings of what a re-vamped Stewart Reserve could look like to a meeting of Council.
More work has still to take place, but these concept drawings are available here. (Please note: this a large file - 9.25MB)
