PowerNet will be carrying out some major works in Milton during the period of 27 August to 8 September 2026, which will involve temporary road closures and traffic management measures on Council roads.
Works are scheduled to take place on five separate days: 27 August and 1, 2, 4 & 8 September.
Affected routes include Macandrew and Lisburn streets, Burns and Dryden streets, Shakespeare St, Tokoiti and Toko Mouth roads.
Road closures and traffic management will be in place from 9am to 4pm each day. Maps showing the sites are posted below, with specific details.
PowerNet has sent a letter notifying affected residents of the works. If you have not received a letter, please call PowerNet at 03 211 1899. In summary:
- Residential access by vehicle will not be available; foot access will always be available with short delays.
- Should vehicle access into or out of properties be absolutely essential during the specified times, please contact PowerNet at 03 211 1899. Arranging parking beyond the road closure points to avoid disruption is recommended.
- For help on the day, one of the PowerNet road crew staff will be able to assist.
- For traffic management, please contact TMC at 0800 000 168.
- Cones may be placed on residents' driveways to identify the protection zone.
- No Parking cones will be in place on the street.
- Kerbside bins can be put out as normal.
- Emergency Services have been notified of this closure and will have full access always.

will be sending out reminders via our website, antenno and social media closer to the time of the road closures and any
further specific details that relate to each closure or the traffic
management that will be in place at each site. PowerNet will notify of any power outages.
