Clutha District Council’s contractor Fulton Hogan will be replacing the abutments of Waipori Road bridge across Reidy Creek from 25 September 2023. Work is expected to take around three months.
The existing bridge will be removed and replaced. Due to the nature of the works, the road will be closed on either side of the bridge until work is completed. Normal traffic will not be able to drive through the closure, affecting Waipori Road between Wetherstons Road and Mitchells Flat Road.
Site works will be between 7am to 7pm. These will be noisy but aren’t expected to have much impact as there are no immediate residential neighbours.
Once the new bridge is in place, the surface will be chip sealed and there will be a temporary reduced speed limit in place to reduce damage.
