Kaitangata & Wangaloa – boil water reminder

A boil water notice remains in place for Kaitangata residents and those on the Wangaloa rural water scheme.

This is a precautionary notice due to filtration problems at the water treatment plant. We will advise when the boil notice is lifted.

Anyone using water from their tap for consumption (including teeth cleaning and washing fruit and vegetables) should boil it for 1 minute before it is used.

Please tell friends and neighbours. You can fill your own clean containers with drinking water at the tanker across from the fire station on Eddystone St or at the public tap at Balclutha, next to the helipad.

The aluminium advisory for this scheme has been lifted.
