Water and Boating Safety Notice: Hina Hina Bridge
Council contractors are planning the demolition of the existing 140m bridge structure spanning the Catlin’s lake from January 4, 2021 and expect this work will take about one month.
During demolition works sections of the bridge will be brought down in manageable pieces and winched to shore (all within the footprint of the bridge).
During these critical operations any small vessels using the waterway may need to stop, until it is safe to proceed.
Due to the nature of demolition works precise timeframes cannot be given day to day, however we expect these critical works to take one month.
The Otago Harbour Master has been notified along with the Owaka Yacht Club and warning signs will be installed at the Owaka boat ramp.
