The community is invited to a community drop-in session at Taylor Park in Milton.
The drop-in session will give the public a chance to have a look through one of the cabins, which will provide short-term accommodation that can be used by holidaymakers or workers in a tight employment environment.
The cabins were built by men taking part in carpentry industry skills training at the Otago Corrections Facility and have been planned for Taylor Park since 2021.
This is also an opportunity to provide your feedback on the Taylor Park section of the Milton Reserve Management Plan which is currently under review.
While the feedback period closes on 22 September, feedback will be accepted up to and at the drop in event.
Four of the ten self-contained single bed cabins have been transported to Taylor Park and will be available for short term rent when they are connected to services and signed-off by Council’s building services. The rest will be transported once they are built.
Each 18sqm, single person unit is standalone with kitchen and bathroom facilities and a small deck area.
Your comments and suggestions are welcome on how Taylor Park should be managed now and in the future visit:
