Council owns and operates pools in Balclutha and Milton. The Milton pool is open for the summer season only. We also make grants available to various school and community based pools throughout the district located in Beaumont, Clinton, Clutha Valley, Heriot, Owaka, Stirling, Tahakopa, Taieri Beach, Waipahi, Waitahuna, Waitapeka, Waiwera South and West Otago.

The Balclutha Pool was upgraded to include a roof replacement, a better and safer area for toddlers, upgraded changing rooms, renewal of the heating and ventilation, new therapeutic pool, and bulkhead to shorten the length of the main pool to 25m and create a new learners pool.
The pool is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, 2 January, Easter Friday and Sunday, and opens at 1pm on ANZAC Day.

Milton Pool consists of an indoor 33m pool, 6m learners pool and a toddlers pool. It is also heated.
The pool is now open for the summer season.
