Council operates the units as a self-funding activity and as such, attracts no general rate assistance.
Council has a tenant selection process and a priority system for filling vacant units.

There are a number of vacant units in our Tapanui Council Community Housing Units at 5 Kent Street, Tapanui. The non-smoking units are modern, self contained and are available to a wide range of people in the community, not just the elderly. A number of these units have recently been upgraded and each has its own heatpump.
The rent is $113.00 per week.
