Second Hand Sunday - 2 October 2016
Do you have stuff you'd like to get rid of but it is too good to put in the rubbish? Would you like to give it away but don't know anyone who wants it? Second-Hand Sundays are the perfect opportunity for that person to find your stuff and take it off your hands. In essence, they work like a garage sale, however no money changes hands.
Any day can be treated as a second hand Sunday, if you have items that you are happy to give away; you are welcome to put them at your property boundary during daylight hours.
To give your items the best chance at a second life, register to take park in Council's Second Hand Sunday - Annual Spring Clean, held on the first Sunday in October each year. So this year it's on October 2.
In essence, it works like a garage sale, however no money changes hands.
Participants who have items they would like to give away register their address with Council and Council will advertise the list of registered addresses the week prior through the website, Facebook and, for participants who register in time, the Clutha Leader.
Second Hand Sunday is the perfect opportunity for that person to find your stuff and take it off your hands - as they say; one person's junk is another person's treasure!
Register and find out more on Council's website.
