Balclutha Centennial Pool Re-opening

Clutha District Council is expecting to re-open the Balclutha Centennial Pool on 5 September, following its shutdown for annual maintenance.

It closed on 24 July 2016 for routine maintenance and extra work on pool surfaces, which took longer than expected.

This is the first time the pool has been emptied following its upgrade five years ago and work including making bulkhead alterations, sealing, grouting and tile replacement as well as maintenance on the heating system and filtration plant.

We will begin to fill the pool over the next few days and then the water has to be brought up to temperature, if this happens before 5 September, Council will look to open the pool earlier.

This work allows the pool to operate with fewer disruptions during the year and keeps it looking attractive and clean for our customers, so thank you for your patience during this period.

Please keep an eye on Council’s website and the Balclutha Centennial Pool Facebook page for any updates.
