Living and Working in Clutha

Living and Working in Kaitangata and the Clutha District

Thanks for your interest in living and working in the Clutha District. Unfortunately, there have been some incorrect stories in overseas media that we are paying people to move here. This is not true.

We certainly were not expecting this story to go global and never intended to market it overseas, so while the international attention has been very exciting and really positive for us, we’re now overwhelmed with enquiries from around the world!

We are a small district and organisation so please be patient as we work through the thousands of emails and other queries. Apologies because we won’t be able to respond to everyone individually.

If you live overseas, the first thing you need to do is check you are eligible to work in NZ before contacting anyone - https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas

If you are already eligible to live and work in New Zealand and are genuinely interested in the district please email our economic development agency Clutha Development Inc at info@cluthanz.com or check www.cluthacountry.co.nz for more information about the house and land packages on sale in Kaitangata, but again we ask for your patience as we work through the responses.

As jobs become available, they are listed on the Seek and TradeMe websites, so you might want to keep an eye on those. However, please note that many of our employers do not always advertise their available positions, but instead our economic agency Clutha Development Inc. liaises and connects with them on your behalf.

The primary employment sector in the district is agriculture, however there are opportunities for specialists in other industries.

You can also check out the www.cluthacountry.co.nz website for information on living and working in the Clutha District.

Thanks again for your interest in our small part of the world and best wishes for your future, wherever you are.
