Scholastic announces new Best Bear Book

Award-winning Catlins author Diana Noonan will charm children again with the release of her latest bear book, Dear Toby. A reassuring book for all children who ever ‘misplace’ their much-loved toy, this special new picture book will be released by Scholastic on August 23.

Beautifully illustrated in watercolour by Linda McClelland, Dear Toby contains a series of correspondences from children concerned about their teddy bears. They receive comforting answers from the wise bear Toby, who always has the very best advice.

Diana Noonan is the author of over two hundred publications, including the enduring favourite The Best-Loved Bear, which has been in print for over 15 years, and The Best-Dressed Bear.

“The caring text of this latest bear book admirably captures children’s concerns about losing their favourite toy , and will be loved by children and parents alike,” said Diana Murray, Publishing Manager for Scholastic New Zealand.

Dear Toby will be celebrated at a local book launch at Balclutha Library on Friday 3 September at 11.00am, an opportunity to hear Diana Noonan talk about her books and have copies signed.

Its official launch will be held at the Storylines Family Day at the Christchurch Town Hall on August 15.
