Tuesday 10 August 2010 Time running out for TrustPower Award nominations
Clutha District Council is urging people to get their nominations for this year’s TrustPower Clutha District Community Awards. The TrustPower Community Awards are a joint venture between TrustPower and Council to celebrate the tremendous amount of work volunteers undertake in our communities. The awards are divided into two main categories. The first category is for voluntary groups or organisations, while the second main category recognises and celebrates the contribution individuals make to the Clutha community. As of today, there have been 13 groups/organisations nominated for the Community Awards, but no nominations have yet been received for the Individual Civic Awards. The Civic Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the contribution individual people make to the Clutha District community. Four Civic Awards are presented each year. Council’s Corporate Services Administrator Alison Ludemann said people had until Friday August 20 to get their nominations in for this year’s awards. “Nominating local voluntary organisations or individual for an award is a great way to acknowledge their achievements and to express a genuine interest in the community,” Mrs Ludemann said. “If you know of a group or individual who deserves some recognition then get your nomination in today.” Nomination forms are available from the Clutha District Council or can be made online by visiting the TrustPower website www.trustpower.co.nz/communityawards This year’s awards will be presented on Monday 20 September.
