Wednesday 11 February 2009 Fourteen submissions received on proposed Wind Farm Clutha District Council has received 14 submissions on New Zealand Windfarms Ltd’s application to build a small wind farm at Mt Stuart, west of Milton. Submissions on the proposal closed last week after the resource consent application was publicly notified on 11 December last year. Planning and Environment Manager Murray Brass said that of the 14 submissions, 13 were from people who live in the general vicinity of the proposed site who either opposed or had concerns with the proposal. Mr Brass said the one other submission received was from TrustPower, which supported the proposal. He said New Zealand Windfarms had now asked that the consent application be put on hold for a month while the company considered its response. A letter advising submitters of this will be sent out today. |
