MEDIA RELEASE

Monday 26 January 2009

Number of valuation notices undelivered

Clutha District Council is urging any ratepayers who have not yet received their latest valuation notices to get in touch with Council or Quotable Value NZ.

The new three-yearly valuations took effect from 1 September 2008, and notices to property owners were sent out before Christmas.

However, Corporate Services Manager Alan Dickson said Council had received an unusually high number of complaints from property owners who were yet to receive valuation notices.

“We have not been able to determine why so many valuation notices have not been delivered. Anyone who has not yet received their notice should call us on 03 419 0200 or Quotable Value NZ on 0800 786 822 as soon as possible so we can arrange a notice to be re-sent.”

Mr Dickson said objections to the latest valuations close this Friday 30 January. However, the submission period would be extended for those late in receiving the valuation information.
