on this country. It does not include people who are alive. It presents snapshots of
places, times, events and trends in New Zealand history, linked to the

newspapers.
INNZ (Index New Zealand) This is an index of NZ magazines and newspapers. You can use INNZ to search
for articles on your chosen subject. It will give you the title of the
article, author, name of magazine or newspaper, date, issue and a brief
abstract. It is not full-text. Most articles will be available on Interloan.
NZ Science
indexes NZ scientific publications from 1840 to current day.
Newzindex
covers many NZ journals and major newspapers from 1985 to 2006.

New Zealand National Bibliographic
Database
(Te Puna search)
Use the National Bibliographic Database to search for items by author,
title (either a book title or magazine or newspaper title) or keywords. This
resource will tell you whether a particular item is held in a New Zealand
library or not. Most of these items will be available to borrow on Interloan.
It also provides a gateway to worldwide resources such as WorldCat.

The Niupepa:
Maori Newspapers Digital Collection is an electronic collection of over
17,000 pages taken from 34 separate periodicals. It is based on 'Niupepa
1842-1933', a microfiche collection produced by the Alexander Turnbull
Library. 55% of the collection is written solely in Mäori, 43% is bilingual
and about 2% is written in English. There were three main types of niupepa
published; government sponsored, Mäori initiated, and religious. |

This resource
covers all areas of New Zealand's involvement in WWII, from detailed
accounts of particular battalions, to the political and economic background
and consequences, to full accounts of particular episodes and campaigns. A
search facility and separate maps and diagrams are available.

newspapers and periodicals. The site currently contains digital images of
over 600,000 pages from 30

means 'the pathway'. Through interlinking text and image trails, the
Encyclopedia takes you on a journey of discovery. Beginning with the theme
of Peoples, it will eventually present a comprehensive guide to New Zealand
- its natural environment, history, culture, economics and government.
