from Megan Burke, Community Coordinator May 2009 Community groups struggling through the grants process need not despair. With the funding year well underway, and the different funding bodies tightening their purse strings, some groups may feel they have little hope of success. The Clutha District Council’s Community Coordinator, Megan Burke, believes there are more options out there than many realise. “The funding application process need not be as daunting or confusing as many people think,” Megan says. “It’s about making use of the resources available, and being organised and informed”. Groups with questions or problems are encouraged to contact Megan, based at Development House, and to refer to the Clutha District Council’s Community Development webpage (www.cluthadc.govt.nz/community.htm). This webpage is a useful resource for groups with a community focus, and as a resource it continues to be improved upon. Megan recommends that all groups consult this webpage regularly, and to contact her with any further funding related enquiries. Click here to go back to Community Development homepage
