What is happening?
The Balclutha Centennial Pool is currently undergoing a major upgrade to bring it up to modern standards.

How much will it cost?
The $3.49 million contract for this project was awarded to Dunedin based company Lund South Ltd in May 2011.
Under Council’s current revenue and funding policy, this project will add about $67 + GST to the Balclutha Community Services rate (depending on property value) and about $8 + GST to the Uniform Annual General Charge which is set on all households across the district.
When will the pool reopen?
At this stage, the pool is expected to reopen in late May 2012.

How is the project tracking?
Update as of 26 March 2012 The new roof is now on and remaining interior work is now well underway. Tiling work, painting and carpentry work is also in progress.
